Wedding ceremony on the Atabeyra

The Atabeyra anchors off Little Water Cay also known as Iguana island.

The Atabeyra anchors off Little Water Cay also known as Iguana island.

This is a continuation of a previous post. The Atabeyra is a great choice for a romantic wedding at sea along with all kinds of celebrations and group events. Chris and Isa along with their families from the USA, Spain and Brazil all flew to Providenciales and stayed at Harbour Club Villas. The bride and groom selected the Atabeyra for their wedding day ceremonies. Thanks Claudio for the following stunning wedding photos!!

I had given the family a bag of bouganvillea flowers for little Gabriel to throw at the wedding. Claudio, the bride’s father, captures the moment. If you too are looking to get married in the Turks and Caicos Islands, if you are looking for accommodation and/or want to sail off into the sunset on the Atabeyra, let me know and I’ll put you in touch with all the great people on island that can help you.
A day to remember……….Chris and Isa much love and CONGRATULATIONS!

Flat Calm Ocean

Heavenly ocean this evening.............flat calm and the ocean blended into the sky with no horizon

Heavenly ocean this evening.............flat calm and the ocean blended into the sky with no horizon

We couldn’t resist heading out of Harbour Club’s Marina this evening to watch the sunset on a flat calm ocean.  On one side of the boat the ocean and sky blended into one and on the other, the sunset.

We didn't get a vivid sunset this evening but the calm, smooth ocean was tinged with soft hazy colours.

Soft rosy pinks and oranges of an island sunset were reflected in the calm ocean waters.

Another perfect evening and sunset on Providenciales.

We spent a great afternoon on and in the water to celebrate Barry's birthday today along with visiting friends from Banff.

The water today was like a bathtub and we spent hours out at Osprey Rock and stopped at Taylor Bay on the way back.

Pelicans kept dive bombing right infront of us at Osprey Rock. What a show they put on!

Flamingo sunset

What a sight………the sun setting behind a new house being built on the lake and a lone flamingo. A glittering pathway of  shimmering gold appeared on the surface of Flamingo Lake while the reflexion of the clouds made for a truly spectacular moment. I had seen the flamingos close to the water’s edge and grabbed one of our Brazilian guests who is a photo journalist and off we went to capture these shots. As soon as we arrived, the two flamingos headed further out on the lake.

Hope you get to see flamingos on your next visit to our beautiful islands.

Sapodilla Bay

Kite boarding and visiting boats at anchor at Sapodilla Bay

Late afternoon is such a beautiful time of day………….we watched a kiteboarder as he skimmed across the bay past and around some boats that were at anchor.  Shooting into the sun gave the photo a soft quality as the sun glinted and sparkled off the water.  Don’t forget to bring glasses and a bottle of wine to sip on as you watch the sun go down into the water. Sapodilla is the best place to watch the sun set and perhaps even to see the elusive “Green Flash”.
Cheers!

Spectacular sunset

Spectacular colours at sunset

Spectacular colours at sunset

Sunset was a glorious sight with such great colours…….. pinks, reds and golds. Even more spectacular was Kathleen’s barbecued ribs. We were invited by our guests to enjoy a barbecue prepared by Chef Kathleen. I can’t describe how good those ribs were…….the best we’ve ever tasted. Luckily we have been given Kath’s recipe and so long as I follow it to a T, we’re hopefull the ribs will taste as good. Many can attest to the fact that I am not too good at following recipes as I tend to add bits and pieces and take out stuff I don’t like.

Island sunset

Turks and Caicos Island sunset on the south shore of Provo

Turks and Caicos Island sunset on the south shore of Provo

Today was a flat calm day and the ocean showed not a ripple. I sent one of our guests to the bonefishing flat in the photo just a short ways down the road from our villas.  He spent part of the afternoon wading in search of bonefish. When the sun sets on the south side of Providenciales, it’s a good opportunity for a photo. You have to be on the beach early though as the sun goes down at 5:20 or so. Hope to see you enjoying some of our fabulous sunsets soon.
