Lazing in the shallows of stunning Taylor Bay

Taylor Bay is a shallow bay that ripples and sparkles as the out going tide forms sand bars. It’s a perfect setting for a late afternoon wedding with a few dark clouds looming as our bride and groom pose for wedding photos.

The bride and groom had eyes only for each other. Lori looked stunning in a beautiful lace, tea length dress as her handsome groom Dan looked lovingly into her eyes.

Beautiful bride gets ready for her big day

Stressful days dealing with Hurricane Sandy and getting out of New York turned to SUNSHINE, SMILES and LAUGHTER as everyone arrived on Providenciales in the Turks and Caicos Islands. The wedding day was just a little bit cloudy with a gentle breeze just perfect for the Grace Bay beach wedding. The villas at Harbour Club hosted the bride and groom and a selection of family and friends from New York, Poland and Texas. Here’s a selection of my photographs so that everyone not here can enjoy seeing Justyna and Ken get married. Congratulations you two!

Sunset Beach Wedding

Our bride and groom, Tam and Derek were married yesterday at a beach wedding ceremony out at Leeward beach.

Our bride and groom, Tam and Derek meet each other outside their villa. They were married yesterday at a sunset wedding ceremony out at Leeward beach.

A beautiful wedding day, sunny blue skies and the seas were gentle and calm as Tam and Derek exchanged their “I Do’s” on Pelican Beach at Leeward. Tam and Derek pose for wedding photographs in the grounds of Harbour Club Villas.

Tam was stunning in her satin bridal gown, a veil draped around her shoulders and a bouquet of purple and orange bouganvillea. Derek was handsome and dashing in his suit and orange tie to match his boutonnier ……… and see below!!

Beach Weddings in the Turks and Caicos Islands

The other day a white, airy wedding canopy was erected and readied for a sunset beach wedding. A hobie cat was sailing by almost on the horizon as I took this photo.

The Turks and Caicos Islands are some of the favourite destinations for that romantic island beach wedding. Leeward Beach Wedding

Faith wore a beautiful elegant gown as she posed in the gardens by the pool at Harbour Club Villas.

Yesterday was an anxious day as we all prayed for NO RAIN …….. one minute the wind was blowing strongly, dark clouds and thankfully just a sprinkling of rain. Faith and I even drove out to the beach at Leeward to see what it was like. As soon as we saw that brilliant turquoise coloured ocean which was made all the more intense by the cloudy skies, Faith knew the ceremony was going to be at the right beach.

Dan, the groom didn't seem too nervous........I don't know what Barry was pouring into his drink!!

Dan and Faith are all smiles as they exchanged vows on Leeward beach.

The beach was deserted, the clouds threatened rain and made those turquoise ocean colours much more intense. The waves crashed onto the beach with white foaming fury. I don’t think it gets any better than this for an ideal wedding location.

Yeah.........We did it and here we are married at long last!

Faith’s beautiful bouquet of yellow calla lilies added a splash of sunshine. As soon as we saw the fresh flowers that Louise had brought in to the flower shop at the IGA, those yellow lilies stood out. Put together with a white orchid spray, it made for a simple but lovely bridal bouquet.

Half Moon Bay

Two pelicans were on the sand bar in Leeward Channel as we motored past.

We were invited out on a friend’s boat but this time on the north side. It was the first time in quite a while and an opportunity to see the huge changes……….empty docks at Leeward Marina, Nikki Beach resort (recently closed) from the water, the remnants of Star Island and the build up of sand at Emerald Point. We were lucky to see two pelicans on the sand bar on our way through the channel and then on to Half Moon Bay.

Local boats were out in full force as the Minx pulled in and thunderclouds rolled in.

Half Moon Bay is a heavenly spot with its distinctive out cropping of rocks with tall Silver Palms. It’s a favourite place to sail to for weddings and fun gatherings for locals and visitors alike. I spotted a couple of Caicos Sloops out for a sail and the Beluga anchored off the beach as they snorkeled with JoJo the dolphin. I missed seeing JoJo but some of our friends saw him. The Minx was there too and even the dogs had fun today.

As the clouds rolled in, we heard thunder and saw lightning………..rain too. The Minx and Beluga sailed off before the rain but we stayed and sure enough it cleared off a little.

It was so beautiful in this spot amongst the rocks.

You can see why this is such a favourite beach to sail to.

If you’re looking to have a wedding here in the Turks and Caicos Islands, keep this jewel of a beach in mind. There are boat charters that can sail right up to the beach for a special wedding ceremony.

We had such a lovely day and hope that you too will be able to enjoy Half Moon Bay and beach on your visit to Providenciales.

Wedding ceremony on the Atabeyra

The Atabeyra anchors off Little Water Cay also known as Iguana island.

This is a continuation of a previous post. The Atabeyra is a great choice for a romantic wedding at sea along with all kinds of celebrations and group events. Chris and Isa along with their families from the USA, Spain and Brazil all flew to Providenciales and stayed at Harbour Club Villas. The bride and groom selected the Atabeyra for their wedding day ceremonies. Thanks Claudio for the following stunning wedding photos!!

Atabeyra Wedding

Congratulations to Isa and Chris who were married on board the good ship Atabeyra yesterday.

Congratulations to Isa and Chris who were married yesterday. A great wedding day……… it was pretty hot as Isa and Chris posed for some photos in the shaded and slightly cooler driveway at Harbour Club Villas. Family came from Brazil, Spain and the USA for this special occasion.

After much emailing back and forth, the decision was, to be married at sea onboard the S/V Atabeyra with Captain Dave and his crew. This beautiful old vessel is a traditionally rigged trading schooner that has been refurbished and now does charters. I like to call it a rum runner (a romantic ring to it!!) as it used to ply back and forth between the Turks and Caicos Islands and Hispaniola carrying rum, beer and produce.

Here's my favourite photo of the Atabeyra.....we've had many a great trip with Capt. Dave over the years.

Claudio, the bride’s father, is a photo journalist and I will ask if I can post some of his great wedding photos taken on board during the wedding ceremony with Pastor Coleby of the Healing Waters Ministry here on Provo.

Gabriel, Isa's son sits for a moment as we try and coax a smile out of him. Gabriel had had more than enough of the picture taking.

There’s so many wedding options here in the Turks and Caicos Islands and sailing off into the sunset, a wedding at sea is one of them and very romantic too.
