Turks and Caicos Islands….Open for Business

01hcvIMG_1456 (5)

Harbour Club Villas and Marina has a new look with new, white metal roofs…….Yes we are open for business after Hurricane Irma.

Yes, we can now say that we survived a Category 5 Hurricane!

It has been a chaotic and traumatic time for all of us here in the Turks and Caicos Islands. We were hit hard with damages especially to all the roofs. Our red tiled roofs are no longer, ripped off by the horrific force of the winds and left in piles after Hurricane Irma.

Now some 50 days after, we have new white metal roofs and clean up is almost complete. The Turks and Caicos Islands are open for business and better than ever…….restaurants are opening, dive boats are back in the water, snorkeling is great and we’ve seen so many turtles and our bonefishermen are back in the lake and on the flats, excursions and more.

Grace Bay Beach at the Bight Reef is as beautiful as ever so book your vacations now. This was taken a few days ago

Our beaches are all as stunning as ever with the prettiest sparkling water you’ll ever see. All my photos have been taken recently and quite honestly, if you want beaches that have few people on them, now’s the time to come. We are waiting for you so head down for some fun in the sun and on the beach.

Atabeyra Sail

Such unbelievably turquoise waters on the south side of Providenciales

There’s nothing quite like it………..sailing on the good ship Atabeyra, clear turquoise waters, blue skies with white puffy clouds and with wonderful friends. This time we sailed on the south side of Provo and out to the old freighter wreck.

"La Famille Express" is the name of the freighter as the Atabeyra anchors in calm waters just off it.

My favourite photo of this beautiful old boat....great for all kinds of group charters.

Such a nice day for a sail

We’re hoping you’ll get a chance to see our islands from the water.

Wedding ceremony on the Atabeyra

The Atabeyra anchors off Little Water Cay also known as Iguana island.

The Atabeyra anchors off Little Water Cay also known as Iguana island.

This is a continuation of a previous post. The Atabeyra is a great choice for a romantic wedding at sea along with all kinds of celebrations and group events. Chris and Isa along with their families from the USA, Spain and Brazil all flew to Providenciales and stayed at Harbour Club Villas. The bride and groom selected the Atabeyra for their wedding day ceremonies. Thanks Claudio for the following stunning wedding photos!!

I had given the family a bag of bouganvillea flowers for little Gabriel to throw at the wedding. Claudio, the bride’s father, captures the moment. If you too are looking to get married in the Turks and Caicos Islands, if you are looking for accommodation and/or want to sail off into the sunset on the Atabeyra, let me know and I’ll put you in touch with all the great people on island that can help you.
A day to remember……….Chris and Isa much love and CONGRATULATIONS!

Atabeyra Wedding

Congratulations to Isa and Chris who were married on board the good ship Atabeyra yesterday.

Congratulations to Isa and Chris who were married yesterday.  A great wedding day……… it was pretty hot as Isa and Chris posed for some photos in the shaded and slightly cooler driveway at Harbour Club Villas. Family came from Brazil, Spain and the USA for this special occasion.

After much emailing back and forth, the decision was,  to be married at sea onboard the S/V Atabeyra with Captain Dave and his crew. This beautiful old vessel is a traditionally rigged trading schooner that has been refurbished and now does charters. I like to call it a rum runner (a romantic ring to it!!) as it used to ply back and forth between the Turks and Caicos Islands and Hispaniola carrying rum, beer and produce.

Here's my favourite photo of the Atabeyra.....we've had many a great trip with Capt. Dave over the years.

Claudio, the bride’s father, is a photo journalist and I will ask if I can post some of his great wedding photos taken on board during the wedding ceremony with Pastor Coleby of the Healing Waters Ministry here on Provo.

Gabriel, Isa's son sits for a moment as we try and coax a smile out of him. Gabriel had had more than enough of the picture taking.

There’s so many wedding options here in the Turks and Caicos Islands and sailing off into the sunset, a wedding at sea is one of them and very romantic too.  Give me a call at Harbour Club Villas and we’ll give you some ideas and lots of information on having your wedding in the Turks and Caicos Islands.

Congratulations Isa and Chris.
