Beach fun

Can you believe the colours of the water on Grace Bay today!!!!

Can you believe the colours of the water on Grace Bay today!!!!

The south side was rough and with white caps today so we headed off to my favourite spot on the beach in front of the Bay Bistro. Tina and Sheldon returned to the beach where they were married two years ago. They had a beautiful beach wedding ceremony and had their reception at the Bay Bistro. The water was calm and spectacularly clear as we just lolled in the water for hours with drinks in hand.

It just doesn’t get any better than this. The water was warm and sparkled in the late afternoon sun.  Little Michaela came down to the beach for a swim along with her family. She told me she was just learning to swim.

The only way to describe today was “idyllic”. The water was calm with a gentle breeze blowing and only a few people on the beach enjoying the afternoon. It was raining as we got to the beach at Sibonne but I’m glad that didn’t scare us away. That’s Provo for you…….wait a few minutes, the rain stops and the sun comes out!

We hope you’ll come and enjoy all that our island has to offer.

See you soon,

Marta

Wedding ceremony on the Atabeyra

The Atabeyra anchors off Little Water Cay also known as Iguana island.

The Atabeyra anchors off Little Water Cay also known as Iguana island.

This is a continuation of a previous post. The Atabeyra is a great choice for a romantic wedding at sea along with all kinds of celebrations and group events. Chris and Isa along with their families from the USA, Spain and Brazil all flew to Providenciales and stayed at Harbour Club Villas. The bride and groom selected the Atabeyra for their wedding day ceremonies. Thanks Claudio for the following stunning wedding photos!!

I had given the family a bag of bouganvillea flowers for little Gabriel to throw at the wedding. Claudio, the bride’s father, captures the moment. If you too are looking to get married in the Turks and Caicos Islands, if you are looking for accommodation and/or want to sail off into the sunset on the Atabeyra, let me know and I’ll put you in touch with all the great people on island that can help you.
A day to remember……….Chris and Isa much love and CONGRATULATIONS!

Atabeyra Wedding

Congratulations to Isa and Chris who were married on board the good ship Atabeyra yesterday.

Congratulations to Isa and Chris who were married yesterday.  A great wedding day……… it was pretty hot as Isa and Chris posed for some photos in the shaded and slightly cooler driveway at Harbour Club Villas. Family came from Brazil, Spain and the USA for this special occasion.

After much emailing back and forth, the decision was,  to be married at sea onboard the S/V Atabeyra with Captain Dave and his crew. This beautiful old vessel is a traditionally rigged trading schooner that has been refurbished and now does charters. I like to call it a rum runner (a romantic ring to it!!) as it used to ply back and forth between the Turks and Caicos Islands and Hispaniola carrying rum, beer and produce.

Here's my favourite photo of the Atabeyra.....we've had many a great trip with Capt. Dave over the years.

Claudio, the bride’s father, is a photo journalist and I will ask if I can post some of his great wedding photos taken on board during the wedding ceremony with Pastor Coleby of the Healing Waters Ministry here on Provo.

There’s so many wedding options here in the Turks and Caicos Islands and sailing off into the sunset, a wedding at sea is one of them and very romantic too.  Give me a call at Harbour Club Villas and we’ll give you some ideas and lots of information on having your wedding in the Turks and Caicos Islands.

Congratulations Isa and Chris.

Island Wedding

Shelley and Shandi outside their villa at Harbour Club before their beach wedding

Shelley and Shandi outside their villa at Harbour Club before their beach wedding

Shelley was such a gorgeous bride in her stunning lime green, lace dress with green cymbidium orchids to match.  Shandi didn’t seem too nervous as we headed off on the long drive to Malcolm Roads Beach for the wedding ceremony. This beach wedding in the Turks and Caicos Islands recently was one that I’ll always remember.  It’s the first one that I’ve ever been to where both bride and groom went right into the water in celebration of their marriage.

As the sun set, bride and groom headed for the water and I got some great photos

Providenciales is a wonderful place to have your wedding and honeymoon. Shelley and Shandi stayed at Harbour Club villas for almost three weeks. The first week was spent organizing the details, Pastor Coleby, visiting various beaches in order to choose “their” perfect beach. They wanted a beautiful beach as well as a rocky shoreline to remind them of Nova Scotia, they selected flowers, photographers and other details. I helped them with flowers, a special wedding cake and took hundreds of photos. After the wedding they relaxed and enjoyed a terrific honeymoon at our villas.

We have six villas just perfect for smaller group weddings, family reunions or group gatherings. Plan your wedding in the Turks and Caicos Islands……we have simply the most spectacular beaches ever for that special wedding day.

See you in Provo.

Turtles

My tucked away little beach found by a few lucky visitors

My tucked away little beach found by a few lucky visitors

Late yesterday afternoon, we went down to a lovely beach not far from Harbour Club Villas. We were there with only one other couple…………..they must have been honeymooners as they had carved a heart in the sand.

Honeymooners leave a heart with their names and footprints in the sand

There was great excitement as Marilyn saw something in the water…………I knew immediately that the turtles were out! Previous guests at our villas had sighted dozens….yes dozens of turtles here. I had even taken a trip out to see for myself but hadn’t sighted any. There was at least three turtles this time and their heads popped up over and over again as we sat enthralled watching them. I waded out into the water and managed to get these photos of them.
I managed to catch this photo of one of the turtles as I waited patiently in the water for them to come up for air.

Another turtle pops his head up, saw me and went back under.

There has been numerous sightings of turtles here at this beach during the last month. I’m not sure why there would be so many of them and in the shallow waters of the south side of Provo close by our villas. I’ve mentioned it to a few people but no one seems to know.
I love seeing turtles and hope you do too on your next trip to our “beautiful by nature” Turks and Caicos Islands

What a day for a beach wedding……..Monday, April 20th…..glorious sunshine and the wind lay down a little as Shelley and Shandi headed off in their jeep to Malcolm Road’s beach.  Shelley was a beautiful bride dressed in a gorgeous green lace wedding gown with a spray of lilies and orchids that matched her dress exactly. Shandi with his quiet smile didn’t seem to be too nervous!!!!!

Malcolm Road’s beach isn’t your usual wedding beach but Shelley and Shandi simply couldn’t get over the spectacular beauty of this area. The rocks reminded Shelley of her PEI (that’s Canada folks ) roots.
